KyoChon Korean Fried Chicken @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

By : Chha

KyoChon Chicken originated from South Korea has been operating in Penang for some time, i remember it was back in year 2015 when i visited South Korea, KyoChon Chicken is already a craze among Malaysian who visit South Korea. It was like a year after my visit to South Korea, KyoChon Chicken starts to surface in Malaysia. I spotted the first outlet in Kuala Lumpur and now it is finally in Penang, haha !

It is kinda confusing when people said that KyoChon is located at G Hotel Gurney. I went looking for KyoChon inside of G Hotel, well, it is actually located in between G Hotel and Gurney Plaza, that walk way where all the restaurant and cafes are located.

KyoChon, the place may look big from the outside but most of the space inside is being occupied by their kitchen and leaving KyoChon with limited space for seating place. There are some seating place outside of KyoChon too. Over all, the place is still comfortable to dine in and its clean (^.^)v

8pcs Regular Honey Wingette and Drummette RM 22.00

Red 1/2 Chicken

Well, i definitely set a very high expectation on the food here when i walk into KyoChon, as i have tried the one in Korea and i hope that the one i am having here in Penang is as good as the one i tried before. Gladly the Honey Chicken does live up to my expectation, haha ! Which is a good thing .. haha ! The Red 1/2 Chicken is also tasty but it is tooooo spicy for me T.T but one thing i don't like about the Red 1/2 Chicken is there are more bones than meat.

One special thing about KyoChon here is that, they are serving steam rice, soup and salad as well. This combination is making KyoChon so local, suitable for the taste of Penang people like me, haha ! Really enjoy eating here .. hehe !

Bottomless Fanta, Plum Juice, Yuza Drink

Not all the drinks here are bottomless, definitely not for the Plum Juice and Yuza Drink. The drinks here are just normal and it taste a bit bland, probably added too much ice or water to it .. hehe ! Over all, dining here at KyoChon is nice, i like the food here, though the service here is a little slow, probably due to peak hour when i visit as the place is full with people.
