David Brown's Restaurant & Tea Terraces @ Penang Hill, Penang

By : Chha

David Brown’s Restaurant is probably the highest landed restaurant in Penang right now, haha ! Located on top of Penang Hill, you will need to take the Penang Hill train to reach David Brown’s Restaurant. You can hike up too if you want but i dont think anyone would want to do that just for a meal at David Brown’s Restaurant, haha !

Train, is the easiest transport to get up to Penang Hill and it only takes a few minutes walk from the Penang Hill Top Train station to David Brown’s Restaurant.

Tickets price one way for train up to Penang Hill :

Standard
Adult : RM30.00
Senior (60 above): RM30.00
Child (4 - 6 years old): RM5.00
Student : RM15.00

MyKad
Adult : RM5.00
Child (4 - 6 years old): RM3.00

Walking from the top train station to David Brown’s Restaurant is not hard, you exit the train station and keep walk straight until you saw a sign board showing David Brown’s Restaurant on your left. Walk up the stairs and you will see David Brown’s Restaurant.

Environment at David Brown’s Restaurant is really awesome, it is quiet and calm. At night, it is cooling as well. The only down fall about this place, is there are some bugs flying around the area, making it a little irritating, haha ! Maybe, if you are lucky enough, then there might not be any bugs to 'bug' you, haha ! I think, probably it all depends on the weather as well.

David Brown's Classic Chicken Chop RM38.00
(Grilled boneless chicken thigh and served with Jumbo Sausage and mix vegetables with Potatoes wedges)
Choice of sauces : Garlic, Pepper, Mushroom

Grilled Salmon Fillet RM52.00
(Grilled and served with mix vegetable and Potato Cream)

Cream Of Mushroom RM18.00

I don't know is it because of me or the food here does not taste as good as it looks. The Cream Of Mushroom is not bad but the Grilled Salmon Fillet is a little bit dry and the vegetables around it are hard as if they are not well cooked. David Brown's Classic Chicken Chop is still ok but it needs to be accompanied by the black pepper sauce that i choose, else it taste a bit bland. Overall, i would say that the food here is just 'ok' .. but the environment is nice.
